No Place Of His Own

The costs of life refuse to fall
House rents are awfully steep
Yet though my home is rather small
I still find room to sleep

But Jesus Christ could find no bed
God’s Son of flesh and bone
No place on earth to rest His head
No home to call His own

Within a shed to earth He came
He lived His life to give
Holy; yet died with all our shame
That all in Him should live

Should now I live in deep despair?
Knowing God’s Christ and Son
Knowing His love one day I’ll share
When work on earth is done

The bible shows Paul saw The Light
He saw The Way to live
He found true love received the sight
That Jesus sought to give

I see now clear what I must do
By faith live day to day
Serving my God with Christ in view
Walking His Righteous Way

I’ve food, I’ve clothes I have my health
My eyes are trained above
And by God’s grace spiritual wealth
With all my Saviour’s love

Why should I care why should I cry?
Need I ask God for more?
I know right now if I should die
I’d rise to Heaven’s Door
