Brilliant. Beautiful and terse! The allusion is less about leadership and more about the social nature of humanity. But your poem is clearly about hierarchy. Reminds me of my poem called Chess.

I thought I was heading towards Hemingway and expected bells to be tolling. Instead I found a lovely assonant little poem, which reminded me of a saying I heard many times in the Fire Service. Too many chiefs and not enough indians Hugz
