Do you not think I have desires or aspirations of my own?
That I cannot lift myself above the basic needs of others
I have far-reaching visions that go way beyond
Your grotesque, self-centred reflections
You may sexualise my form and attempt to malign my sex.
By becoming more of the monster you truly are, Satan.
No, I will not sink in the mire, the sewerage
Of your ageing, rancid flesh or linger
In your acrid quagmire shadows.
I will not share my heart with either devils or witches.
To the satisfaction of another's carnal knowledge.
I am curious, I am ambitious,
But at the same time, I am far from virginal or foolish.
I yearn for redemption; I seek greater divine grace.
I cherish my innocence above all other commodities.
And no, no amount of monetary wealth or bribery
Could persuade me to forfeit my soul
To fulfil your needless, puerile, hateful dreams.
I will not stand on the shoulders of others.
Only to see those below me fall like dominoes
To fulfil your fantasies, to seek some lowly fulfilment.
I want dearly to triumph in all my ambitions.
But without any hurt or detriment to others.
And ultimately, I want humbly to serve a greater good.
