Nit Picker Comments

Rating: 5.0

there is, she said, a typo in stanza three, no full stop in the fourth line and you have; here I can imagine her high dudgeon,
as she types, a spellingerror in the last line.
you have no sense of punctuation and your grammar though fair
is too obscure.

ok, i've just looked up the definitions of " nitpicker" /nit picker. Oh, Andy, let's be fair! for the most part, the definitions cast*** a nit picker as overly-fussy, and perhaps even mean, and potentially a villainous creature who concentrates on fault-finding, giving little or no regard to e.g. suggesting improvements which may be made, for example, in a poem. : ( i plead innocent of such activity! ! and i hope i used " cast" properly. bri :)

3 - p.s. ha ha. T. Allport (another of my PH friends) uses " to" instead of " too" , below. what can i say? i am a proud charter member of the NpOA, Nitpickers Of America. p.p.s. but SERIOUSLY, i'd rather read a poem which makes sense to me, and perhaps has some rhyming, some (tastefully done, of course) , and humour/humor, but teeming with typos, than a typo-free poem which failed the above tests. ;)

2 - i'd have to read the poem in question to see what i would suggest, if anything, to " improve" it. actually, to some of " us" , readers, (at least to me) , the typos and grammatical 'errors' or 'peculiarities' DO sometimes interfere with our reading and enjoyment of a poem. that's why i proofread my stuff so much (one reason) . how ya doin', my friend? ? to MyPoemList. bri :)

1 - a 'new' word for me: dudgeon " noun a feeling of offense or deep resentment" She WOULDN'T, would she? ! Ah! " nitpicker" here, " nit picker" there? ? ? ha ha. but my mom did perhaps pick some nits from my head hair before sending me to school each morning (kidding) . ok, for real: Andy, i think you may be referring to me as the " Nit Picker" , though you disguise me as a female.
