Nightmare Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Nightmare

Nice night fright nightmare

I miss a nice night fright nightmare so much
Hypnosis drugs not helping as such
I am going crazy
My memory hazy
So i watch Friday the 13th every lunch

Night fright

Nights are a nocturnal torment
In the deepest depth of night i resent
Constant ticking of the clock till morn
Every day i wake up tired and worn
Nothing seems to help me relax
In the evening i still face a relapse
Groggy as previous many nights
Hypnosis never really gets it right
Tried meditation but no success
Further therapy i ve tried to access
Returns me back to the same state
In my life this seems my sorry fate
Gin and tonic raises my blood sugar
Hooch makes me look like Lexx Lugar
To take cannabis is way too risky
Narcotics make me dangerously frisky
Injecting cocaine will make me crazy
Googling the day away makes me lazy
How am i going to make me sleep?
This dangerous charade i can't keep
My thoughts are going beyond earth
Am liking the thought of my own death
Retiring permanently in eternal sleep
Escaping to a place i am totally free

Spooked?

To those who love me i m joking
This is just me with fun poking
Testing what i can do long acrostic
with lots of words and no acoustics

Those who hate my guts tough luck
You know which word rhymes luck
You know i am a gentleman cant say it
I am still here rocking on the street

I do not suffer from insomnia
A bit of wakefulness then apnia
My doc says that normal at my age
Happened to all since Stonehenge

So relax my fellow poets on PH
DM is here to stay eating in the DH
Dining hall where poems are cooked
Unless Dillip K. Swain gets spooked

Miss a nice night Fearing nightmare visit Sleeping pills no effect Crazier I'm becoming with it So I watch Friday the 13th every lunch Sounds creative offer of broth Bowed to finally ritualize plinth. Beautifully expressed. Thank-you.
