You started with a pleasant dream, but as we don't have any control over dreams, the pleasant landscape in your dreams changed into a sordid nightmarish landscape.... and you find yourself terribly lonely...! Thank God it is all a dream! A great write!

Amazing how the darkness can make a place turn so uninviting, its the not seeing, not knowing if there is something there or not, felt the fear reading this one Tom......nicely done Annette

Thanks Annette. Maybe brought on by reading a book on the Netherlands, oddly enough. It gave warnings to tourists not to go down certain areas in Amsterdam, no go areas. Somehow it became Paris. Tom

Yes, those Bewaries have much to answer for. I'm not usually subject to Nightmares but this felt very real. I don't know why it was Paris. I can't recall visiting the less salubrious Districts. But the dream insisted it was Paris. Seemed very odd. hope it's not a premonition! By the way, right decision on the boots! Hope Benson was thoroughly ashamed! Fat chance. Tom
