It was night, and there were no stars.
Innocent curiosity got the best of us
and we spoke to one another. A laugh
started it and, of course, a hint of dramatic
flair. I was surrounded by all of my friends.
You were shy, but it was the kind of night
that takes away all fears. Darkened hours
had changed my outlook on you and I
knew it would be the beginning of a lasting
friendship. A connection? Something was
slowly drawing me to you and as you went
out to play your guitar out on the steps, I
smiled at the chords that were lingering
in the air. As the last bits of darkness fell
away, and the sun, that beautiful bright sun,
rose up over the horizon, I knew that this
day, this sunrise, again surrounded by two
best friends would be one I could never forget.
