New World Older Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

New World Older

Rating: 5.0

New World Older

It's a brave new world
with new words
The internet of things
touching human beings
deprived of privacy
with nations still seeking primacy
Not much has changed
It's very strange

I see a new world older
pretending to be a new world order
People with fresh ideas in their endeavour
steeped in archaic behaviour
When it suits
Their pursuit
leads to double standards
Leaving us stranded

Yet, if you go from Africa to South America
North America, through Canada to Russia
Through China, past India, the Koreas and Japan
Australia, Madagascar back to Africa
We all want the same thing
We want world order
not a new world older
