New Travel Poem by Darlan M Cunha

New Travel

*

Understand that a friendship is something too serious
to lose sight of it, like you lose a pier
of keys, the composure, the ticket
for the game, the belief in some hope
and even, dare I say it, the ring.

Come on, once you cross the river,
with the heart triggered by the flow and reflux,
it will be left to cross the sand in the form of breasts and asses
having above us the warm eye, and below us
the grains on which to sink their feet.

but don't stop, or here you'll be wrapped in grain and
stars, having lizards and snakes for neighbours
and don't expect them to be fine companies,
with a vision that humans cannot achieve.
