New Beginning Poem by Ibrar Ahmad Siddiqi

New Beginning

It all started ten days ago.
Decided to make an effort.
Start upon a new direction.
Giving up on habits.
Laying those demons to rest.
Time to be honest with myself.
Reward myself with a new start.
having to finish with the past.
New Beginning that's the ticket.
I'll begin to win and collect my prize.
It'll be my turn to come.
Sweet reward coming my way.
Just be a while before good fortune lays at my feet.
Like a faithful dog with whom I built up some trust.
Hate turned to water and blew away like the dust.
Things are looking up this time, this year.
Certainty in my bones.
