'I wrote this poem off the top of my head, not focusing on sentence structure or even making sense. Prett much, whatever word flew into my mind, I wrote it down.' This is what the surrealist poets in the first half of the last century were doing. Try looking at Andre Breton, Paul Eluard and Robert Desnos. The poem Cascade by Robert Desnos is my personal favourite.
