Never Minimize Sin Poem by Gary James Smith

Never Minimize Sin

Never Minimize Sin

Never minimize sin
For it gives the maximum penalty
For the wages of sin is death
It's the graveyard's testimony
There's only One that I know of
Who had victory over sin's cost
Who became sin for us who knew no sin
And died there on Calvary's Cross

The grave could not hold Him captive
For He was not beholden to sin
In obedience to His Heavenly Father
He said I will suffer for them
God was well pleased with that offer
He lead Him to the Cross in our stead
But three days later...our Victory assured
As Christ raised Himself from the dead

Hallelujah for that Saviour
That procured for us an eternity
That took sin and shook the death out of it
To offer us sweet liberty
Even children can understand it
For faith is as simple as this
Whomsoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
Will live with a heavenly bliss

Repentance is still on the table
The day of grace is still at hand
Today why not make the choice of a lifetime
Secured by Salvation's plan
We all know that we are sinner's
The Spirit convicts us of this
Christ took your place...what amazing grace!
Why reject such an offer as His!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
