Never Ever To Return Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Never Ever To Return

Never To Ever Return.

The day I sort of saw reality is when I came short
I thought I was a cohort only to face the retort
from the most unexpected hostile host.

'Son, have you done everything for everyone? '
He said without being afraid, as if I was going to paid

Just because I bore the brunt of things like in a stunt
I realised too late that my fate would not be straightforward
Because those I thought would understand dealt me a hand underhand

I felt like I wanted to belt out a verse from Twelfth Night
but I checked myself and faked a checkout
Never to return and never to ever turn to those who spurn.
