‘' Never Be Tempted By Greed ‘' Poem by Bri Mar

‘' Never Be Tempted By Greed ‘'

I had all I needed,
Yet my life was a chore,
With the Gods I pleaded,
Please give me more,
When it went unheeded,
What came to the fore,
Was a desire to make others bleed.

I had more than enough,
My life was sunny,
Yet still I felt rough,
This bee needed honey,
To those poor, I said tough,
You will not get my money,
Look elsewhere for a feed.

Though my riches I flout,
I'm but one of a few,
Be in no doubt,
I'm much better than you,
To all those without,
Who can't do as I do,
On your way of life, I'll impede.

You make your own bed,
So, don't dare blame me,
It's all in your head,
Don't dare disagree,
Though you're being bled,
You must pay a fee,
To con you, the rich take the lead.

While you pay my way,
Whilst living in despair,
What I wish to convey,
What I have I won't share,
Though it's you I betray,
Truth is, I don't care,
My bank accounts you must feed.

At this time of year,
You struggle to get buy,
More debt brings on fear,
Wipe that tear from your eye,
Let me make it clear,
Your needs I'll deny,
Your requests for help I won't heed.

I'm now on the street,
Begging for assistance,
All those I greet,
Don't offer resistance,
Despite my conceit,
With total consistence,
They help me get back on my feet.

Once I was lost,
All my money had gone,
Sitting in the frost,
I was way overdrawn,
With humility I'm embossed,
As others helped me move on,

‘' Never Be Tempted By Greed ‘'
