Never A Lover Poem by Kenny Mantinelli

Never A Lover

My heart was sprained,
And has finally recovered;
But, the one I have my sights on,
Thinks of me as no more than a brother.

I've tried looking away,
Tried looking to another;
To set my mind elsewhere,
But, all I want is to hug her.

Everytime I see her,
Look into her eyes;
My heart beats quicker,
And time just flies.

If only one day,
I could call her mine;
That would be the day,
My life would shine.

The puzzle pieces,
That are my life;
Would fall into place,
Ending all strife.

Although this thought,
Probably won't come true;
I can always try,
To keep my view.

So, all I am,
Is just a brother;
Nothing more,
Never a lover.
