The crow we see, was once a beautiful bird
Sweet as a lark and white as a swan
The world stood in rapturous glee
As he poured out melodies with such elan

How a presumptuous bird got a lesson has been astutely and incisively inscribed here by the means of a nice story relating to crow. The crow got nemesis by God at the end as he deemed himself to be far above the Lord. It is really a brilliant poem that teaches a good lesson to all.10.

Nicely written a poem of crows and the story behind its blackish color and sound which is very interesting to read.It was after all a punishment but made useful for the world through which the cleaning process of debris going on otherwise there will accumulation of bio wastes here and there. The curse to crow became useful to the world.

We create a crow or a hapless mortal from our imagination, Then attribute to it or him all impossible vices And then end up tracing the virtues of a creator ill at ease..... A bad worker always blames his tools I regret deep within if I am a mere tool, Valsa Madam...

At morn when other birds twittered and chirped And sang devotional lays in praise of God, The crow refused to sing any song As he deemed himself to be far above the Lord Black are cursed to sin....... Henceforth you and your progeny will all be black Ugly in appearance! Scavengers you shall be known! ...........

Yash... You wanted to know if this story is a poetic version of a famous legend... or something of my own make..! Yes, it is a figment of my imagination.... Dinesh More than the sympathy you feel for the crow, I feel it is the ire you have for God that has incited you to write this comment.... The crow is not merely arrogant, but he is contemptuous of others and treats them with disrespect... he is also not thankful of his many blessings.... Any way I am humoured by your comment! Tajudeen, I have taken your suggestion seriously... Yea, I shall attempt a role reversal or a twist to the legendary status of my characters as in the case of 'Chandu' Or Bhiman... But unfortunately I am not an M.T.

The poor crow is punished for none of his sins but just for his 'arrogance'! And so God`s messenger descending with ire was very primitive in fact... The idiosyncrasies of the Almighty in portrait are man`s wrong sketches on a spoiled canvas.. I want this nemesis to be reversed and would long to see this crow singing melodiously from the surrounding heights... If this poor bird is punished by God for these lapses of a lopsided divine order, how should a poet punish this God for all the errors of omission and commission mounted ever since He started being the ruler and the judge without retirement...... Dear crow, see, Valsaji has only sung a song of praise on you and be consoled.... Pride may go before a fall but dear crow, you have fallen not, may I assert. Valsaji, I read this write like a child But I have to write here not like he does... Sure indeed, I enjoyed reading it though.

Ego is followed by self destruction.... A moral delivered through witty use of words and expressions. Success may take you to new heights, but ego can kick off from the cliff, , ........ I am curious to know, if this story is your own, or a poetic version of a famous legend..........

A story teller of a bizarre breed though! see if you can change such legendary destiny, as M.T.Vasudevan Nair has done with Chandu and Bhiman. Good attempt, God bless.
