Nothing really fowl, but I did hear Ginsberg howl. that you made him put away the towel If I recall Humor is the heart of a senryu, and this heart is hearty in its dimensions. I don't necessary think a poem has to rhyme in order qualify for its power, Elliot did well for himself, and I am a massive Irving Layton fan. Still its nice to have a discipline of form. Lovely Work sir, style and substance in an attractive little package.

Many thanks, Kevin. You first line- form and substance...It is pure verse.

Quality poems are not relished these days! Something which doesn't have either rhyme or reason is the accepted pattern now! It is a sad state of affairs. A poem should be either musical or should have depth of thought! Beautifully and concisely put!

Thank you so very much, Valsa. Indeed, I think I am starting to dream about that 'some other age.' Thank you again.

Your observation is wonderful....neither fish nor fowl / it's neither rhyme nor reason. Beautiful poem in brief. Thanks for sharing.

A verse for this age, very well said. Yet, the Japanese short poems we read are the English translations and not the original. So, rhyme may be, but not sure about reason. A poem is a beautiful thought beautifully presented in a tellingly lovely verse form.

Thank you so much, Aniruddha. Yes, in fact one of the inspirations for this poem was that very point, the point that so much meaning seems to evaporate with translations.

So much blankness. What should I say then! .. A tear, a smiling tear. To relate humour with the verse. Nice poem

Thank you, Soul! I like the idea of the wandering mind. When I finished revising, I had three distinct interpretations in mind. Since, other possibilities have cropped up.
