Goddess Durga, is worshipprd as, Shailaputri on the first day of Navratri.
Shailaputri' is the beautiful daughter of the Himalayas, She is ‘Parvati' the empress seated atop the mountains, She is ‘Sati Bhavani' meditating on the icy peaks, the daughter of Himalayas. how our Indian spiritual Gurus thought out about creation and about the daughters and beauty and intelligence in the Hindu Scriptures. we always deal with mystery in Religions. you are my teacher of Hinduism. thank u dear Geeta the Danseuse. tony
(2) I would like to quote a few lines from this beautiful prayer as under: O Mother Goddess ‘Durge'! I meditate on you! O Devi! ‘Paapanashini' - Destroyer of all sins! Please weave a protective covering around me to ward off evil, Please safeguard me from unknown dangers and attacks.
(1) Devotees observe Navaratri Puja for nine days by praying one of the nine forms of Goddess Durga each day out of which Goddess Shailputri is traditionally worshipped on the first day of Navaratri. I am short of words to express the exquisite beauty of the poem. Thanks, Geeta ji.
