Natures Calendar February 2016 Poem by Alison Gaff

Natures Calendar February 2016

As February closes, remember
This year has an extra day
So do something special
Enjoy it in every way

Although we've still had rain this month
And cold and gusty gales
The sun has tried its very best
As spring it tries to hail

There's daffodils a plenty
And some blossoms on the trees
But round the coast it's colder
With wind whipping up the seas

Well we've had some frosty mornings
When grass glistens in the light
And when the nights are colder
It makes the stars seem over bright

The birds are all a singing
And the bulbs are peeping through
The trees are coming in to leaf
Heralding life a new

So as the baton hands from Feb to March
Springs truly on its way
The birds will soon be nesting
So they'll welcome the longer day
