Nature's Way Poem by Jennifer Birchall

Nature's Way

A whirlwind you swept me off my feet, had me all dizzy
Love blossomed like small buds turning into a beautiful lily
We danced until drenched in warm April showers
Our roots were as deep as oak trees, together we had power
Nights we lay under the stars, wishing upon them
Evening dogs walk down the river, the hidden gem
We'd camp in fields of freshly cut green grass
Strolls along the canal admiring the beauty so close
Led us to beer gardens to enjoy a cold glass of wine
Life looked perfect as a picture postcard enjoying family time

You couldn't protect me from the pelting hail that day
Such a force with nowhere to run, could not get away
Then a long drought made cracks in the ground
The lily started to wilt and the grass turned brown
Thunder started to rumble and I got scared
Down came the rain and it started to flood
It just kept coming, it wouldn't stop pouring
I struggled to breathe, felt I was drowning
I held out my hand but you didn't take it, instead a hurricane
Caused so much devastation, no choice but start over again

Whirlpool of emotions painting the happiness, hardship and love lost. Do't be discouraged by physical obstacles. It is a cliche, but there is always light at the end of tunnel. You are close the end.
