Let me tell you a story,
many years ago in Jamaica,
people suffered huge loss of crops
due to proliferation of rats.
To rein in the rat population
Jamaican government brought
mongooses from India, who
of course, did their job well.
Mongooses multiplied
in numbers manifold,
once rats grew fewer
they turned to birds for food.
When birds disappeared
insects harmful to the crops
increased in huge numbers and
damage to crops was higher.
What man deems good
is not good for Nature,
his acts serve only to
vitiate Her equilibrium.
When the balance of Nature
is disturbed, the damage
is repaired naturally, She brooks
no interference extraneous.
For, Nature knows!
She knows better!
Oh yes, it is wise not intervene in Nature's resilient acts of restoring balance. Part of the truth is that Nature's healing processes are slow where damage is rapid.
You are right Alyx. Nature's healing process is slow, but damages are often fast and lasting. And man fails to understand the effects of his acts.
Ever so wondrously expressed! .. Thank you so much for sharing this! .. Definite, Definite 5 Stars! ..++++++++++++++++++++++++++
extraordinarily an excellent series....highly informative....very much adorable...thank you for such an interesting and inspiring write
Thank you dear poet. Nature knows what is better its survival. I would like to believe that dinosaurs were extinct because Nature decided so, meteors or no meteors.
Nature knows best and deals with the situation appropriately..Nice series on nature......10
Wherever man has interfered with the equilibrium of nature, it has proved disastrous. Thank you, Geeta
