Nature 14 - The Fantastic Forests Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Nature 14 - The Fantastic Forests

Rating: 5.0

Wonderful sunlight streams into the forest,
With its piercing rays of gold and orange,
Wondrous rays of vibrant life and energy,
Weaving an intricate chain and cycle of lives!

Fantastic Forests!
Far more intense than tall trees, plants, bushes abode,
Full of small and big animals that shelter in their natural home,
Fabulous community of living beings that breathe and thrive together!

Bears and lions can live and roam around, only in forests,
Beetles and monkeys can fly and jump around, only in forests,
Birds and Deer can enjoy singing and buzzing around, only in forests,
Butterflies and elephants can move freely around, only in forests.

Let the forests remain and reign as world's greatest treasure,
Let the sunlight filter through the forests as amagical pleasure,
Let not the human hands engage in tampering with forests in blunder,
Let us simply learn to accept the forests as a place of natural wonder!

I often visit forests and there are plenty nearby. some are raw and some declared national parks. I find it very refreshing. Every tree has a story to tell, every fearful yet jumping deer is joy to watch, Monkeys jumping on the tree giving signals of a wild animal (Tiger, bear, wild dogs, leopard) around and a call by sambar or barking deer is a thrill to enjoy. Your poem brought them all alive again some 20 days back I got the opportunity to hop into raw Jungle.
