Your poem has brought the subject of narcissism alive... an ailment and trait of ego that identifies oneself with the body the most, Not of one whose focus is more on the inner self identified by atman,

''He was plunged in the error the eye uses to when it lacks comparison's measurements''- these two lines are the rational explanation; though, the Narcissistic Personality Disorder, is far more grave, and deeply rooted into the childhood.

Though it is a well known myth, this along with the image has acquired a special novelty here! As Nosheen has commented, this is a mental deformity......! Those who fall excessively in love with themselves won't be able to see his fellow beings! He estranges himself from the rest of the world and languishes in his own self made isolation! A great write!

A splendid write. Narcissism is a malady indeed. You have brought to life the ancient myth with a mastery of language and expression. A life of isolation n self-obsession might lead to psychological disorders. A10.

Interesting. I know very little about mythology but had always thought of Narcissus as egotistical and self absorbed. Here is is a rather lonely and sad sounding rendition of him.
