I have no answer, no solution, no absolution
if you will, to ease your loss, your yearning.
If only your heart was as easily closed as
the doors he slammed in your face.
You put all of yourself out there, didn't you?
At first, it was all in fun, you emailed-amazed him
with your intelligent, sharp wit and far-reaching humor...
LOL... oh my!
Then he stepped through the thin veil between
your cyber-verse and into your reality-verse.
In for a penny, in for a pound, is that what they say?
So, you put all of yourself out there again, didn't you?
Your long wild hair, your real-life laugh... your sexy
but coy demeanor... yes, yes... he promised you his heart.
How could he not... I mean, look at you!
Anyway, you spread those toned runner's legs of yours
to answer his promise... suh-weet it was, too.
But you see a hesitation here, see averted eyes there....
and there your are, still 'out there' with him because
your heart fails to see what your eyes know already.
The sweet now turned to bitter...
And yet you are still out there for him... and he's gone.
Your heart still aches for him... and he lied.
Your legs still quiver for him... his promise no more.
But you know better now, don’t you?
Because the TRUTH hath set you free, AMEN!
Yeah, right... goddam doors.
