Naming Of All The Planets

Jupiter was named
after Mercury's dad,
the dad of Venus and Mars as well.

If Earth was named
after a child of his too,
we could be living on Bacchus instead -

or Proserpine,
who spent winters
with the dead.

Saturn was named
after Jupiter's dad
and Uranus after Saturn's.

If Uranus had had a dad,
the next one out
would have been named after him.

Jupiter's bro stood up.
Pluto too was Jupiter's bro.
He was not Neptune's pup.
