Unfortunately there is a lot of discussion but no solution to the problem! People who are forced to leave their lands and seek harbor elsewhere are in fact in a dire situation! To be uprooted all of a sudden and to be thrown to a state of absolute uncertainty is something unbearable! We can hardly conceive of the real agony they face! So true Lyn.... no one likes to be a refugee! People who live in comfort and safety should be a little more compassionate to them! No one has sole proprietorship over the land! It should be shared by all! Humane thoughts!
I have already made an extensive comment on the recent refugee situation, as mentioned in the poem (and poet’s note) The Little Boy On Bodrum Beach - Poem by Tan Pratonix. my comment there may not warm too many hearts to me, but it is there for anyone's consideration. i am not always trying to be funny, but i really had the feeling at first, before i finished the poem, that you MIGHT have been talking about nudist colonies. hmm? nope. thanks for sharing. i've heard that Australia has not been overly-generous in its treatment of would-be refugees seeking asylum in Australia. but i'm not pointing fingers. if God exists, she ‘should be’ more vigilent! bri :)
The vices like vested interest with authoritarian practice along with aggression has created this term oil in this world. Nobody has any right to snatch the freedom of living in the land and to snatch the freedom of speech. Very nice words.
Spot on. It's easy to say no and harder to stand up for right. I agree.
Definitely freedom is pure gift and life keeps hope of living in such amazing land which simply makes better living. Wise sharing....10
We should all count our blessings instead of enumerating our woes. Nicely penned, Lyn
A pure gift is much needed! Thanks for sharing.
