I have abandoned wishes I touch the humble soul and walk the first forest I will live forever hidden with seasons and waters in earth's lush monument Beautiful lines from this lovely poem. Rain brings us back our childhood at times, urging us to roam naked under it..it's quite a platonic feeling. Thanks poet for the beautiful and love bathed poem. 10++ for the sharing. Subhas

A beautiful poem that makes one feel beautiful while they read it. I think we've all wished to be one with the amazing simple wonders of the world. A sole meek wish to be as naked as the rain? Not so meek really. :) Wonderful poem.

I touch the humble soul. That line sums up the genuine wisdom of this poem. It is a wonderful lyrical grasp of both the problem and the solution, but I was not really thinking those things. I was instead thinking of how beautiful it all is and I can finally say with Dostoyevsky's Idiot-Prince, YES, BEAUTY WILL SAVE THE WORLD, AS LONG AS WE MAKE OURSELVES WORTHY OF BEAUTY. And your poem does that task: it is both beautifully written and directs our attention to what we must do: surrender the false dreams, cleanse the heart of pettiness, do soul-work. I love this poem!

Your praise seems too great but I will accept it. It is obvious to me that you completely understand the poem. It is a very difficult task - surrender the false dreams, cleanse the heart of pettiness, do soul-work.

I am given to hyperbole, Barry, and since I've been at Poemhunter I've surendered to that part of my personality. Consider all the times in your life when no one said diddly-scwat and yet you deserved buckets of gold for your thoughts and acts, not to forget poems and comments. My hyperbole redresses the balance and restores what was lost to timidity, oversight, forgetfulness - You get the picture!

Yes poetry should be like that...naked as the rain and should live forever hidden with seasons and waters. A beautiful concept of poetry.

Rain really is naked, isn't it? Never heard that expression before. My grandmother used to say 'naked as a jaybird'. Nice poem.

Naked sounds more poetic than natural. Rain and jaybirds are quite natural and completely without clothing. Glad you liked it.
