Naked Ambition: Beyond The Spotlight Poem by Nahna James

Naked Ambition: Beyond The Spotlight

From the moment I began to bloom,
In whispered lips and hushed rooms,
I never fathomed fame's embrace,
A path I'd tread, a destined race.

It started with a tender sting,
A hunting ground where echoes ring,
Why, oh why, did they pursue?
For fame, my world was skewed askew.

Through days of old and nights of dread,
I prayed and swayed, a soul misled,
Yet through the pain, a path emerged,
A journey fraught, but never submerged.

Each step I take, a new refrain,
A phrase of truth, a lasting gain,
But in the glow of fame's bright flame,
I'll never be the same.
