Naija Poem by Raimi Babatunde

Naija

Rating: 1.0

Naija, My Naija
So rich, yet so poor.
We have everything, yet lacks everything.

Naija my Naija,
A country where Elephants can fly
Where every politician is a virgin?

Tell me,
Which country turns bullets at her future?
And assists another to save just one soul?

If you survived today a Nigerian
Congratulations! You are already a legend!
Sometimes, I wish we can be re-colonised.

One day, we will sing like the birds
As our grumblings will break the skies
And all our enemies will vaporize.

One day, our lamentations will be over
And a new Nigeria will be unveiled
Brace up! Believe! It is closer than you think.
