I enjoyed the experience of the ritual in your poem. You don't intellectualize it or try to explain it. You rather put the reader inside the devotee as she performs the ritual so that we experience the meeting of human and divine on the common ground of the temple. I like what Avik Datta Gupta wrote about the ritual as revealed by your poem, namely, God changes our souls in a parallel to our changing the statue's attire. It is a simple gesture but with profound spiritual importance.
God's change our soul's garments while we change the garments of God's in temples. Liked this poem a good write. What I also liked about you is that you are an avid reader of lines written by others.Shine on!
