A nurse a doctor,
A driver a carer.
All front line staff,
One united torch-bearer.

A beacon of hope,
You all do shine.
For all afflicted,
Their only lifeline.

You seek no thanks,
Or financial gain.
Helping so many,
Those in pain.

All stoic staff
All husbands and wives.
Sacrificing family time,
Sometimes your lives.

Such strength and resilience,
Sheer determination and grit.
Making a huge difference,
For all our benefit.

Of your precious time,
Life's cherished thing.
Given to devoted duty,
Your empathy we sing.

Every demanding day,
A tough handicap.
And leaving home,
A respected handclap.

The presence of you,
Can make amends.
You are yourselves,
With no pretends.

We all do stumble,
We all do fall.
You lift us up,
Each one and all.

You soothe all worries,
Keep them at length.
Renew our spirits,
And give us strength.

Your days are long,
Your shifts demanding.
You're a different breed,
Simply outstanding.

All one in a million,
All good throughout.
We sing your praises,
Of that no doubt.
