There will always be a time for the people to seek freedom and ride in the wings of democracy, come or high water. The sanctity of the ballot if guarded thoroughly and patiently is the best democratic way to attain freedom.

A powerful and inspiring write. Yes, the ballot box is the receptacle of liberty. A sacred tool to determine the popular will. The embodiment of the rights and hearts of the people. An excellent write brilliantly conveyed and crafted. Very informative.

In 1994, true democracy came to South Africa when apartheid ended. The ANC prevailed at the ballot box-where it counts.

The poem highlights the power of democracy with acute sharpness. Tells us how apartheid was thrown to winds by the people. In South Africa. But it is a pity that apartheid is still alive and kicking in many minds. Please take time to read my poem, “Mother of Emmet Till”, along with the poet’s Note on it.

Bearing the scars of Apartheid, Indigenous people celebrate the birth of Democracy. Ballot box had come at a great expense; At all costs, its sacredness shall be preserved. Those were the surviving heroes and heroines of Mzansi.......touching expression. Beautiful poem is amazingly shared. TFS.

Singly, the weapons were discharged Into The Receptacle Of Liberty; Upon which they received baptisms of Freedom. Inside the altar, tugs of war ensued: Invisible fibres bound and aligned aspirations....Love the imagery
