Judging by the surrounding countryside, I will guess Lake Mead.
Lake Mead is in Nevada, but this lake is not found within the state of Nevada. Good guess, however. The States of Nevada, New York, and Utah have now been eliminated.

Knowing that you are from Utah, I will guess Utah Lake. I have been to Fish Lake in Utah, but not very familiar with it, so that would be my second guess.
Thank you for guessing, but this lake is not found anywhere within the state of Utah. I WILL tell you that it IS located somewhere in the United States of America, however. Tom has eliminated New York and you have eliminated Utah.
Go on, Kim. I'll have a guess. One of the Finger lakes in Northern NY State? it looks a very restful spot. A very fine poem.
