grandilla is the name. its a tropical fruit often found in latin america

You mean granadilla, not grandilla. No, this is passion fruit. They are very similar. Granadillas tend to be a little larger and more elongated in shape with a yellow-orange color, while passion fruit are a bit smaller, more rounded, and with a purplish color. Inside the seeds are the same but the very soft pulp in Granadilla is almost clear and mucilagenous.
