Mysore - A Tribute Poem by narayana aghalaya

Mysore - A Tribute

Rating: 4.5

Mysore, still has, that old world charm
from real estate, it faces harm

its heritage buildings astound
to find them, just cycle around

its wide straight roads, hundred years old
for today's traffic, one gets bowled

its parks and gardens beckon us
clean and green, walk around; no fuss

lovely statues of kings, statesmen
on past rulers, they are statements

there are several tranquil lakes
for birds, from far, so much at stake

playgrounds for cricket and football
stars from far off, graced with footfall

the majestic Chamundi hills
seen from miles, standing tall and still

at the centre is the Palace
get bowled by its many acres

Brindavan gardens for one and all
must see; for its beauty, all fall

Mysore, as always, spick and span
in this, people have, a big hand

by Goddess Chamundeshwari, blessed,
the people, have peace without stress

Mysore is on the bucket list,
no wonder, offootloose tourists
