My Worth Poem by Randy McClave

My Worth

Why does a burger flipper make the same as me
And so does the person trimming a tree,
And so does the waitress pouring my tea
While I have a higher educational degree.

Why does a union man make more than what I do
To that reasoning I have not a clue,
I have a higher education that anyone can easily view
But, a union worker makes much more which is true.

Why does a chef make more than what I make
All that he does is cook and also bake,
He roasts my asparagus and then sears my steak
I have an education and he doesn't and a degree to forsake.

Why does those working I.T support are full of mirth
They all seem the best paid people on this earth,
I have a flat belly and they all have a mighty girth
Now I am asking myself, why am I not paid my true worth.
