My Wife And I
My wife and I had a real blessing last night
And it came unexpectedly
We went to a friend's to wash and dry clothes
A visit...and a warm cup of tea
We chatted a bit about odds and ends
To bring ourselves up to date
During the course of the evening one of her sons shared
His testimony was just great
He was at a mission's trip to Mexico
With a group of young people from school
They visited an orphanage and an old folks home
Helped build a home which was cool
But the greatest blessing was the revealing of his heart
Which I had not had the privilege to see
The joy as he shared of his blessed time there
Was a blessing to both my wife and me
How that little group who had travelled together
Beforehand none of them had known
That the same questions in life each one faced
Was similar in kind to his own
It brought a new nearness and endearment
To a degree that was not felt before
There were answers to prayer as to how God was blessing
His realness was shown over and over
My spirit as well was blessed by his sharing
It showed me that God was at work
In the heart's of all of these young people
Feeding their hunger and thirst for truth
For all the right reasons I sensed an awakening
They wanted to serve God in love
My soul had satisfaction as the result of their actions
And thankful to God above
There might be a heart living close to you
That so far you have not met
Don't discount its value my friend
God's not finished with it yet
We're still Christian's under construction
A workmanship in Christ are we
Experiencing the love of our heavenly Father
So we may do His ministry!
Hallelujah what a Saviour!
