My Wedding Ring Poem by Namita Rani Panda

My Wedding Ring

Rating: 5.0

My wedding ring in my ring finger
declares triumphantly its unquestioning
power.
I'm ringed with a bond for ever
as I'm a helpless hare in a snare.
I'm ringed in a ring of terror
where I'm beaten by my oppressor.
I dreamt only flowers of affection
but showered with thorns of abomination.
The ring of happiness ringed me in despair
though I strive for sunshine and fresh air.
The dear ring is heavier and bitter
and I'm in an impenetrable cage forever.
