My Watch Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

My Watch

My watch

Roams around us devil
Worldwide and pandemic
"COVID" is very mean!

But maybe, yes, maybe
I must sit and rethink
And like Gulag's copy!

Alone in prison
Recall time of the jail
And act as an expert,
Use, enjoy lots of time,
Which I am forced to waste.

I gathered my papers
Of many, many years.

Found my watch in a box,
Broken to pieces…

Remembered the time when
Entered like mad tiger
KGB's officer.

He aimed kick toward my testicles,
I used watch as spear for defence…

He had been called by the
Agents in consulates:
"The man you arrested,
Is simple journalist, innocent…"

He was put in corner
To release me as if
Had never existed!

Nisa, my student
Smart and clever
Had managed a concert,
Sent someone to Tashkent,
(Canadian embassy, consulate!)
