My Truthful Eulogy Poem by Simbarashe Raymond Mudukuti

My Truthful Eulogy

I rest here dead as a dodo
Laying lifelessly like a crushed cockroach
Let this guy rest
He has had quite a life
Friends and family talking piously about him
You wonder if he was an angel
It makes you think hell is going to be empty
The pastor says a prayer to accompany his soul to Heaven
Before the carriage departs,
One young man comes crying on top of his voice
Why did you?
How could you become extinguished so early?
Why did you depart without leaving my money?
How am I going to settle the debt?
People seem puzzled, others muddled
Is this the portrayed Samaritan who we just rested in peace?
