My Timeless Rock Poem by Shaun Cronick

My Timeless Rock

Rating: 4.0

My time is like a runaway train,
Many things to cram in one day.
Gone forever those days of halcyon,
Hard keeping today's world at bay.

It's like living under the shadow,
Of a constantly chiming Big Ben.
I'm not master of my own destiny,
Like a poet lost without his pen.

There's always hope for the future,
I should forever bear that in mind.
A secure thought I should cling to,
My timeless rock one day I'll find.

Wonderfully poem filled with inspired imagery! Yes everything moves too fast for my liking these days. One day I hope to move to that idyllic/ bucolic cottage in the woods and completely move away from the insidious, modern rat race. I just hope that my namesake Dominic Cummings doesn't have the same ideas...imagine him as a next door neighbour...aaargh! Anyhow, it's a timeless ten from me!

A poetic gem that breathes hope. Uplifting message with wisdom and insight. Each and every stanza stands out with great rhyme. To my Poem List.
