My Thoughts Are Not High Enough Comments

Dear Octavius, Two nights ago, the Holy Spirit spoke to me gently in my mind, Your thoughts are not high enough. I have been reflecting and praying about what the Lord is saying to me. Often with me, the initial thing God speaks is only the kernel of truth, and over time He will develop it so that I fully understand what He is saying to me. Today, I was surprised to find your poem with the same exact words in the title of your poem except the very first words, my and your. What He has been showing me since then, is that I must renew my mind with the Word of God and thus my thinking and thoughts will be transformed. The carnal mind is at enmity with God and we must deal with thoughts that are contrary to and exalting themselves against the knowledge of God. It is God who works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure, but we ourselves are responsible to not be passive about our thoughts. I heard a minister recently say that God will not hold us accountable for our thoughts, only our actions. The problem is, if the mind is polluted with mundane or filthy thoughts and ideas it is unable to be acceptable to God, for words and actions proceed from the thoughts. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. God is making all things new. He has made us new creations for the New Creation that we look forward to, and wants us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Only then can our thoughts begin to be higher. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55: 7-9) KJV No one can know a person's thoughts except that person's own spirit, and no one can know God's thoughts except God's own Spirit. And we have received God's Spirit (not the world's spirit) , so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. (I Corinthians 2: 11-12) NLT Then the apostle makes this astounding statement: The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
