My Theory Poem by Phil Soar

My Theory

I have a little theory
Of how I have turned out
No idea of all the fear
The anger and the doubt
I suffer my emotions
Until it blows my mind
I'd like to settle down a bit
And leave my thoughts behind

It's hard to comprehend it
The years I've spent with guilt
Around this fractious heart of mine
And the shell that I have built
I'd love to turn the tables
And change the way I feel
But isn't that why I'm unique?
And why it's so unreal
