Mr. president i am listening
to you speaking to us now but
i have already accepted you for
what you are and so what you say
always goes out to the other ear
without much minding, but it is
not enough, for i have not minded
what you are saying but i have
minded much what you are doing.
this has nothing to be with your
new rebounding bed, or your latest
love interest, or your latest joke
on the flaccidity of your enemies,
i am awed by the clean bay, the
wide road, the peace in my town,
the new bridge, the way the
criminals now hide themselves.
after all, it is not what you
have said, but what you have done.
kudos then, you have my support.
i have a peaceful city, i have
finally found my own home.
