My Stolen Paradise Poem by Adams King

My Stolen Paradise

Rating: 2.5

The morning of love comes with sweetness
At the sunset off it the devil waits to manifest
The potter that makes the pot breaks the pot
Forgetting the years spent and emotional efforts
How men could be so wasteful a times
To destroy that which they laboured for in time

Women has no constant heart of love they say
They are like the temple where the demons pray
Today they are caring professing love so sweet
Tomorrow they bite you with that same teeth
How funny is a woman's love to be described
For she who made you smile will make you cry

I mistook beauty for the place of a better lover
I was told it rains where the cloud gathers
Bad intentions may hide behind good words
Do not trade your joy for a sorrow you can't afford
Men mislead men to love a lady with great looks
A finer picture my friend plays a better crook

I was once a fool who to such tricks danced
Deaf from love stories through which i glanced
I played the role of a lover and paid the price
Such love i couldn't discern what wrong or right
Who knows if I'm still a fool claiming to be wise
For the truth i once believed turned out to be lies

I can still remember how you forged those smiles
Into a bright light from heavenly supplies
I could still remember the promises you made
How you opened heaven and dispel all hades
You gave me hopes and made me believe in love
I once swore you are a goddess from above

You dispelled my fear and you earned my trust
For you i will bare whips and carry Calvary's cross
How could I have known the worst is yet to come
When i have the best and the storm was gonna
You played and won my heart like a game of card
You had the charms it took to win all i had

I was blind to see titanic sinking for a rock of ice
I never knew this love was built on foundation of lies
Losing you was never a great nor slight fear
I never believed my laughter will turn into tears
Nothing good given to a man by a woman ever last
For she gave me sweet apples and stole my paradise
