My Still Shadow Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

My Still Shadow

It is always great being on my own
Man, not being alone
For, I do not want to be deceived!

Stealing it behind my still shadow
To catch just the feel of the quiet me
Way away from the day today cacophony!

Watching the world spin away
Unmoved by the hustle and bustle of modernity
Surprised by how people can remain sane in all this madness!

As I look at my unmoving shadow stuck on the sunbaked wall
One by one, I begin to count my blessings
Rejoicing in the victories of the now, for that is all that counts after all!
