My Sister Annie Poem by Jan E Smith

My Sister Annie

I’ve known you since I was born
You were always there for me
A rose without a single thorn
In you is what I see.

When I was young and helpless
You stayed right by my side
And in times when I felt worthless
In you I could confide.

Our childhood wasn’t tranquil
Without a dad to care
And I could be a real pill
And know you’d still be there.

And now I sit and ponder
As dusk turns in to night
Did you ever wonder
If I love you when we’d fight?
