My Self Comments

This poem prompts me to reflect on several things. Water is continually offered by nature to Her creatures. This does indeed demonstrate the linkage of /myriad energies/ in the cosmos. Water in its own properties demonstrates intimate linkages in the fabric of natural laws. Within the body it is a vehicle for dissolved electrolytes and oxygen, along with suspended fatty molecules. The gentle oscillation of its molecules diffuses nutrients across membranes and jostles components into place. Outside in a larger sphere it has many wonderful properties. For instance it is a good conductor of heat as a liquid, but it is a good insulator of heat in solid form. Because solid water is a good insulator, the layer of ice on a lake keeps the whole lake from freezing to the bottom. All these special properties of water are offered when and where they are needed. Getting back to your poem, it's interesting to think of the self as key witness to the linkage of natural energies. Good philosophical thinking.
