My Punishments Poem by Sanji-Paul Arvind

My Punishments

I am punishing my heart for letting you occupy its every beat.
And my mind for thinking only of you, day and night.
I am punishing my eyes for failing to see the truth,
And my mouth for speaking of you too often.

I am punishing my fingers for writing about you,
And my ears for hearing your name's echo everywhere.
I am punishing my hands for longing to hold yours,
And my legs for walking in your direction.

I am punishing my senses for expecting your touch,
And my emotions for feeling so deeply for you.
I am punishing my soul for believing you are my twin flame,
And my body for craving only you.

I am punishing myself for not wanting to live without you.
I am dismantling the world I built around you,
And removing you from the throne where I made you its queen.
Yet, in every punishment, I remain bound to you.
