Beget, four-legged friend into life spirit
Begin quest 'bout yourself, start'ng within a minute
Great'st of all, a love 'n caring commit

You will come away, changed forever all
For one soul cannot a touch, another being's soul
O' without a leaving, its mark a whole

Tis' a journey, that will bring you more love
And the devotion, that you have, ever known of
It will test your strength 'n courage e'nuff

It is the greatest, precious, gift embrace
Will not find it often, among the human race
That any living breath of life can grace

The journey will teach many things, I bet
About life, and to be a better person, yet
Pay attention, and learn well from your pet

When the journey, completely, done and end
The individual your pet knew, who to d'pend
They proud to call --''my beloved friend''
